I’ve Been Thinking ……. There will always be challenges and changes, but the goal remains the same. The goal is and always will be to provide the best education possible for the students of Chassell Township. When there is a decision to be made, the first question must always be, “What is best for our kids?”
As we start to answer that essential question this year, we again face challenges, such as state funding still at a level lower than three years ago. During the last three years the school has worked hard to reduce costs, while still maintaining its successful curriculum. This year is no different. Chassell Township schools will now have just one administrator in an effort to lower costs and keep the money in the classrooms. The community has also helped by passing a bonding issue to replace the school’s roof, which will now have a 30 year warranty. The community also passed a sinking fund bond that will pay to construct a new classroom for our Small Engine and Robotic’s classes. Our School Foundation also donated over $20,000 that will directly impact our students’ opportunities and education. I want to personally thank the Foundation and the community for their generous contribution to our students.
As we begin a new school year, I am confident that our students will again find success in numerous areas because they will have the support of a great staff that includes teachers, paraprofessionals, office personnel, maintenance staff, bus drivers and cooks. I am confident that our staff, with the community’s support, will always focus on doing “What’s best for kids!”
