Science Olympiad is an extra curricular activity for grades 6 - 12. Division B is for grades 6 - 9 and Division C is for 9 - 12 grades. Teams of two people practice an activity or construct objects for competition. Each division can have up 15 members that compete in the Regional Competition which is usually held at NMU in Marquette. This year's competition will be held on Saturday, February 8th.
The events encompass a variety of science disciplines and take on a wide range of formats. Some events require prior knowledge while others need to be constructed ahead of time.
Chassell Township Schools has been attending the regional competition since 1997. We always have a great time and even bring back some great metals. The coolest thing is when we win a first place from just the information that we have learned in class.
